Clearwater Beach is famous for its amazingly beautiful sugar sand. Every time my kids and I visit Clearwater Beach, the most we do with this sand is build a mound and call it a castle. We also get lots of sand in our swim suits. We are not artistically challenged, we are quite creative. We just need some guidance.
I had the pleasure of being a VIP at the Pier 60 Sugar Sand Festival this year and I couldn’t believe my eyes. Looking at the sculptures, one does not immediately think about the hard work that goes into building them. It’s only when you think about how much patience and tact it takes to create a sand mound, that you appreciate the talent that goes into creating such works of art.
This was my first time at the Pier 60 Sugar Sand Festival and I loved it. I enjoyed the exhibits, the live sculpting demonstrations, the sand sculpting classes, the VIP area, and just being out on the beach. I even got to visit Bikini Bottom, which was soooo on my bucket list.
The Sugar Sand Festival really did have it all! Vendors, artists, street performers, music, rides, games, and even couches on the sand.
If you have any questions about the festival and my experience, please reach out to me on social media. I am always happy to help with information and recommendations. You can find me at @SocialMediaSass. The festival’s handle is @Pier60SugarSand.
Maybe we will see each other next year? You can catch me on the beach riding the sharks 😉
